Crafting Textile through the Covid Crisis
Crafting Textiles Through the Covid Crisis: Stories from Guatemala documents the experiences of the indigenous textile artisans working in the Lake Atitlán region during the Covid-19 pandemic. It highlights the responsiveness, resilience, resourcefulness and creativity of the artisans and their partner organisations as they diversified their textile practice, communication and business models to sustain artisan communities.
The film was made possible through remote collaboration with A Rum Fellow, Cojolya, Kakaw Designs, Mercardo Global and Multicolores, with narration from Luciana Jabur and editing by Tim Bassford. The project was supported by the Global Challenges Research Fund.
